You can also tell your insurers that you wish S.H.M Bodyworx to complete the repairs on your behalf – if the accident wasn’t your fault then you have a legal right to choose who repairs your car.

Your insurers will then contact us with your details so we can get you booked in for repairs.
Our team will contact you to arrange the collection of your damaged vehicle and the possible delivery of a courtesy car. You may also bring your vehicle to us if it is driveable.
Once your vehicle is onsite, our qualified Vehicle Damage Assessors (estimators) will assess the damage to your vehicle fairly and accurately, meaning you will get the repairs that are due to you following your accident.
The VDA will then send the damage report off to the insurers for authorisation for work to start – in most cases, we can’t start any repairs until we have the insurer’s authorisation.
Once we have authorisation to complete the work, we will order any parts or panels that will be needed and get to work repairing your vehicle!
Our workshop and office team will liaise with the insurer to get your repairs completed in a timely manner, using high quality manufacturer parts and paints.
Once the work has been completed, we will go through our stringent quality control checks to make sure everything meets the manufacturer’s high standards.
When we are happy with the finish, we will clean your car and call you to arrange the delivery of your finished vehicle. We will also collect your courtesy car at this point in the process.
Again, if you prefer, you can come to us and collect your own car at a time convenient to you, leaving the courtesy car with us.
The vehicle repair process goes as follows
- Our office team will receive information that you require a repair from your insurance
- We will arrange for your vehicle to be assessed by our qualified VDA (Vehicle Damage Assessors) and an estimate of repairs is created
- The estimate is given directly to your insurer
- We arrange for the collection of your vehicle if it isn’t already with us and a courtesy car will be delivered to you
- We receive authorisation to carry on with the repairs and start to order any parts or panels needed
- Our experienced workshop team start the repairs following strict standards
- Our office team will update you on the progress and estimated time of completion
- Your vehicle is finished and will go through our quality control checks
- We will clean your vehicle before we contact you to arrange the return of your vehicle and collection of the courtesy car
